How does Profhilo® work?

Through a series of small injections, Profhilo® provides deep hydration and stimulation of new collagen and elastin, helping to give a youthful appearance to the face, neck and other areas of the body. Profhilo® has one of the highest hyaluronic acid concentrations on the market. It provides deep hydration by attracting and retaining water from the body and stimulates four different types of collagen and elastin in the skin. This results in the firming, tightening, and hydrating effects for which Profhilo® is famous.

How long does a typical treatment session take?

A Profhilo® treatment takes approximately 30 minutes, with two to four treatment sessions carried out 4 weeks apart. This is followed by a maintenance treatment course every 6-9 months afterwards.

What downtime is associated with Profhilo® treatment?

Profhilo® treatment has minimal downtime. You may experience mild redness, swelling, or small lumps at injection sites, typically resolving within 24-48 hours. Bruising is rare and fades quickly. Normal activities can resume almost immediately, with minor restrictions for 24 hours.

When will I see results, and how long can I expect them to last?

Results can be seen after two treatments taking place 4 weeks apart. Optimal results can be seen approximately 4 weeks after the second treatment. Depending on the individual, the effects of a Profhilo® treatment can last up to 6 months. The duration depends on several factors, including initial skin condition and lifestyle. Profhilo® functions as a ‘bioremodelling agent’. While Profhilo® and dermal fillers are both effective anti-ageing skin treatments and contain hyaluronic acid, Profhilo® also stimulates collagen and elastin production, improving skin tone, hydration, and wrinkles. Profhilo® offers results that affect the entire face, whereas dermal fillers target specific areas, such as the cheeks.
